Meet the 2025 Board of Directors
Jill McKinstry, Chair
Jill McKinstry is Librarian Emeritus of the University of Washington and former director of the Odegaard Undergraduate Library. She is a passionate advocate for libraries and partnerships within the campus and community. Jill was a member of the Board of Trustees for the University Book Store and received the University of Washington David B. Thorud Leadership Award in 2009. She served a three-year term on the University of Washington Retirement Association Board of Directors and was President from 2017-2018. Jill is on the UW Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) Advisory Board. Jill served as Treasurer for Grandmothers Against Gun Violence Foundation and Co-Treasurer for Grandmothers Against Gun Violence.
Paula Corbridge, Treasurer
Paula Corbridge started her work career in community development, and later managed IT projects in Portland Oregon. She is a longtime volunteer, active primarily in political and women’s issues, but also coached her son’s grade school soccer team and organized Scandinavian cooking classes. After retirement, her volunteer focus was with programs for non-native English speakers. Paula moved to Seattle to be closer to her two grandchildren, and sought ways to be involved in efforts to prevent gun violence. She has been an active member on the GAGV Legislative Committee. It is one way to contribute to the safety and well-being of our shared community.
Barbara Leigh, Secretary
Barbara Leigh grew up in England and received her teaching credential from the University of London. After moving to California and continuing her education, she taught for many years at the elementary level. She also served as a mentor teacher to new educators. Barbara was active in the teachers’ union, and so began her interest in politics and legislation. Moving to Washington to be closer to her daughter, she taught for another ten years before retiring. She volunteered with Moms Demand Action promoting the Be SMART program and safe gun storage. From there she learned about Grandmothers where she has served on the Legislative Committee as a liaison for the 46th district. She continues her connection to elementary education by volunteering at her grandson’s school.
Jennifer Dolan-Waldman, Legislative Director
Jennifer Dolan-Waldman is a retired educator with an Ed.D. in Education Administration from Fordham University. She spent her career working as a teacher, principal, district administrator, and assistant superintendent. In addition, she has volunteered as an English instructor to immigrants. Since her retirement, she has focused on serving her community by advocating for common sense gun reform and efforts to pass Washington state legislation that supports the reduction of gun violence. She also works to activate GAGV membership to contact their legislators to support our legislative priorities. As a grandmother of three, she is very mindful of the need to see how our actions affect their future.
Hannah Marcus, Membership Director
Hannah Marcus retired from the health care planning and administration field after 30 years of service. She earned a master’s degree in Health Care Administration and has worked in both the public and private sectors. Hannah and her husband became grandparents for the first time in 2018. With that major life event, there came an even greater desire to create a strong legacy for future generations in all communities. She fully supports and works to live up to the GAGV motto, “We show up, stand up, speak up.”
Marsha Donaldson, Communications Director
Marsha Donaldson brings a background of having worked in higher education advancement at the University of Washington. She serves on the board of a non-profit that supports a school and orphanage in rural Kenya. She brings a wealth of personal experience to the GAGV Board – at the age of four she was blinded in her left eye from an unsecured BB gun shot by her six-year-old sister. Marsha is a grandmother whose awareness of the importance of gun responsibility spurs her dedication to gun safety, especially for kids.
Donna Stringer, Partnerships Director
A social psychologist and interculturalist, Donna M. Stringer, Ph.D., was founder and President for 36 years of a successful organizational development company specializing in cross-cultural issues, working for organizations on five continents. Since retiring in 2019 she has focused on political issues including voting rights, gun safety and public safety. She is the proud mother of three, grandmother of four and great grandmother of seven.
New Mission Statement
Grandmothers Against Gun Violence is a grassroots organization
